Course Description

This course is designed to enable students demonstrate competences in public Administration and Management. At the core of this course lies the motive of preparing students to become effective Administrators and mangers who are well equipped with modern techniques of Administration and Management. Students should be able to exhibit modern knowledge and skills of managing both the private sector and the public sector. The course entails the conceptual meaning of Administration and Management, differences between Administration and Management, private Administration, principles of Administration in Organizations, management functions, delegation, leadership, communication, civil service and personnel management among others.

COURSE AIM>

The course is intended to expose students to the theoretical foundations and workings of public administration which they will have to apply in the real world of public administration

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, students are expected to:

  1. Demonstrate modern practical competences and knowledge of Administration and management which will later be applied in their work places.
  2. Possess wide knowledge and skills of how to overcome both administrative and managerial challenges in organizations.
