Course Description

Introduction to Government and Politics discusses the scramble of Africa, creation and modern states, Rise of African Nationalism. The student will appreciate political ideologies and Nation building.  The students will analyze will be able to analyze of international relations and regional cooperation.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The course is intended to:

  • Expose students to the rise of African Nationalism
  • Identify various ideologies and Nation building processes.
  • Evaluate theoretical and practical knowledge and skills necessary for actors in the field
  • Appreciate various issues pertaining to Government and politics in Africa.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the course students should be able to:
