Course Description

The course is intended to arouse awareness on the development needs that require immediate attention at regional levels. It is further envisaged that the course will equip learners with skills and knowledge to take appropriate actions that can enhance regional development. For regions to prosper there is a tendency today to integrate politically, economically and socially therefore the course will take students through these processes such that they can facilitate an integrated approach to socio – economic development.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The course is designed to enable students

  • To critically assess the various aspects involved in regional planning from the development perspective.
  • To identify and assess regional problems and provide plausible solutions to the same.
  • To contribute to the formulation of comprehensive public policies and programmes that facilitate development.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the course students are expected to:
