Course Description

The course exposes the student to the concepts and issues related with constitutionalism and political development.  This course prepares the students to appreciate the intricacies involved in constitutionalism in Uganda and the world as future leaders and legislators. The course broadens the student’s understanding of constitutionalism and political development in Uganda and elsewhere.  To sharpen the student’s knowledge on constitutionalism and political development.

COURSE AIM

The course is aimed at;

  • Broadening the student’s understanding of constitutionalism and political development in Uganda and elsewhere.
  • Equipping students with knowledge on constitutionalism and political developments of their societies.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the course, the student should be able to;

  • Explain the impact of constitutionalism and political development on good governance.
  • Explain the constitutional making process.
  • Explain the relationship between constitutionalism and political development visa – a- vis democratic principles.
  • Explain rights protection and rule of law.
  • Explain separation of power; Executive, Judiciary, and Legislature.
