Course Description

This course examines the concept of law and the origins of the role of law in poverty alleviation. The course also explores the key theoretical perspectives in development law and their relevance in explaining the importance of law in development.  

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Appreciate the concept of law as used in development.
  • Comprehend the importance of law in development.
  • Analyse the influence of law on poverty alleviation and the development processes.

 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students should be able to contribute to use their knowledge to contribute to the development of laws that improve the quality of life in the third world or Uganda in particular.
