Course Description

Planning is part and partial of the development process. This course will expound on the concept of planning and its contribution to development at various levels.

Course Objectives

By the end of the Course Unit, students should be able to:

  • Expound on the concept of development planning in the development process;

·         Analyze the key political, economic and social aspects in influencing and shaping the course of planning in the development process; and

·         Analyse the requirements for effecting right, proper and adequate development planning and institutional frameworks for the entire society in a manner that will most efficiently bring out the fruits of development to the broadest segments of its populations.

 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, the students should be able to articulate at large the concept of development planning in the development process. The students should also identify and comprehend the key political, economic and social aspects influencing and shaping the course of planning in the development process.
