Course Description

The central theme in this course is that Human rights are part and partial of the development process. The course will expound on the concept of human rights in contributing to development or/ under development of individuals or nations at personal, local, national, regional and international levels. The course will enable students grasp the concept that human rights observance and decisions are central in influencing and shaping the course of development. 

 

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Expound on the concept of human rights in general and specific terms

·         Analyze the key political, economic and social aspects in influencing and shaping human rights observance and eventual contribution to the development process.

·         Analyses the requirements for effecting right, proper and adequate human rights observance and institutional framework for the entire society.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, the students should be able to understand human rights and explain their importance and application in various contexts
