Course Description

The course examines what industrialisation is, its history, processes and how it industrialisation contributes to development.

 

Course Objectives

This course aims at introducing doctoral students to the concept of industrialisation as a key feature of developing or developed societies and how it influences the development process.

 

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, the students should be able to:

·         Articulate the meaning of industrialisation;

·         Trace the history of industrialisation and its relevance in understanding development;

·         Identify the key processes underlying industrialisation; and

·         Understand the role of industrialisation in development.
