Public Sector Management

The course is designed to equip students with issues relating to Public Sector in developing countries. Students will be introduced to critical public sector management issues such as finances, accountability and transparency, efficiency and effectiveness.

COURSE Objectives
The aim of this course is to provide students with critical analysis of developments in public sector management regarding principles, structures and systems within national and international contexts. Specifically; the course aims to enable students;

• To explain the public sector in general
• To evaluate the skills of fiscal policy that are still being used today in running the economy
  
• Identify the features of public sectors management
• Describe the patterns of operations of public sectors and their management
• Explain the applications of different measures of efficiency, performance and accountability.
• Explain the challenges facing the development of public sector management.
