Course Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course introduces the student to fundamental concepts in electrical quantities, electrical circuits, resistance variation, Batteries and Alternative sources of energy

Series and Parallel networks, Capacitors and Capacitance, and Magnetic Circuits.

 

COURSE JUSTIFICATION/RATIONALE

 

This course provides comprehensive idea about circuit analysis, working principles of machines and common measuring instruments. 

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

·        Use the fundamental concepts of electrical science in Civil Engineering.

·        Learn the application of concepts in other civil and other Engineering fields.

·        Understand simple electrical circuits

·        Acquire knowledge of basic electrical materials

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

A student on completing this course is expected to:

§  Solve Engineering problems using Electrical Science concepts.

§  Design, construct, test and analyze different application circuits and drawings.
