Highway Geometric Design
This course covers the fundamentals and
concepts of highway geometric design for Civil Engineering graduate students. The
course provides a broad overview of the latest policy on geometric design of
highways and streets and exposes students to the tools and concepts needed to
practice highway design in the field of civil engineering.
To develop an understanding of the analysis, design,
Construction and evaluation of geometric design of highways and streets
By the end of this course, the student
should be able to:
advanced work in the area of highway design
on the policies on the geometric design
§ Use the
tools needed for highway geometric design
A student completing the course is expected to:
Describe the key
principles and techniques of highway design.
Define and apply
these principles to highway design problems.
computer tools to generate and analyze designs.
