PURPOSE OF COURSE

It has been estimated that there are over 500 million economically active poor in the world operate micro enterprises and small business. Most of them do not have access to adequate financial service.  To meet this substantial demand for financial series by income micro entrepreneurs, microfinance practitioners adopt a long term perspective.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course unit, students should be able to:

  • Explain the principles and tools that will promote sustainable microfinance and create liable institutions.
  • Discuss the comprehensive tool for the design implementation evaluation and management of microfinance activities.
  • Describe the relevant information that will help them make informed and effective decisions suited to their specific environment and objectives.
