PURPOSE OF COURSE

The course of ethics will enhance ethical thinking and the quality of decision making at all levels of business, at personal, organizational, and macro levels.  The   course examines such issues as the nature of businesses ethical decision making, criteria for evaluating ethic character of actions, moral status of corporations. CSR, justice and the market system, ethics of employer – employee relations, international business and globalization.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course unit, students should be able to;

  • Describe the nature of ethical decision marking
  • Describe corporations and organizations as ethical entities that are morally responsible
  • Appreciate and apply the importance of ethics in the world of business
  • Describe what constitutes an ethical act
  • Identify ethical and unethical practices in business organizations
  • Become ethically sensitive and active in organizations
  • Acquire skills to proactively manage unethical practices in organizations
  • Contribute to corporate ethics programs in their organizations
