PURPOSE OF COURSE

The module aim is to study the major investment decisions of corporations and their implications for individual as managers of a portfolio or shareholders.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course unit, students should be able to:

  • Explain the Investment decisions
  • Discuss the Capital market and the valuation of securities (portfolio theory and capital asset pricing model)
  • Describe the Capital structure and divided policy
  • Business expansion and contraction in relation to acquisitions, mergers and takeovers.
  • Regulation, taxation and auditing of investments
