Research Seminar 1
The course will involve writing good
research proposals. It will include examining research relevance to society,
contribution to the body of knowledge, procedure in the selection and
evaluation of research proposals, and proposed techniques of data collection
and analysis. While lecturers may propose some research topics, students will
be encouraged to formulate their own research topics in line with the
University Guidelines for writing research proposals.
By the end of this course, the student
should be able to:
Provide a platform for comments/criticism
so that students come up with researchable topics.
Provide a foundation and framework for the
conceptualization of the research project
Streamline the focus of the research
process, discussions, and overall research work.
A student completing the course is
expected to write a proposal to address an engineering problem.
