Course Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

This course introduces the basic concepts of mathematics for the students. It provides a foundation to help them understand other environment phenomena and population dynamics.

 

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  • Acquire basic knowledge in mathematics
  • Apply the knowledge and mathematical tools to analyze environmental challenges.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

A student completing the course is expected to:

§  Engage with mathematic principles as tools to represent natural systems and solve environmental problems.

§  Acquire a proficient familiarity with basic mathematical operations and transformations, and apply these operations to novel challenges in the environmental sciences.

§  Develop a mathematical literacy permitting engagement with mathematical models and operations.
