Course Content and Outline

By the end of this Course, Students should be able to:

1.      Demonstrate a systematic understanding of a range of project management techniques, which will enable the successful management of ict projects.

2.      Organize and resource ict project estimating the resource requirements and allocating tasks with regards to risk and the available human and technical resources.

3.      Analyze, plan and manage a typical ict project using scheduling, monitoring and controlling tools and techniques, and systematically evaluate and appraise the project outcomes and process.

4.      Discriminate between and systematically evaluate techniques of team building and management and discuss which are likely to improve the success of an ict project.

5.      Explain the scope of project management.

6.      Compare and contrast project staff motivation techniques.

7.      Critically apply project tools to control and manage projects.

8.      Understand and analyze risks.

9.      Effectively contribute to and lead teams.

10.  Develop analytical and problem-solving skills.

11.  Demonstrate ability to apply project management skills.

12.  Demonstrate leadership skills.

13.  Develop knowledge and application of project management software.

14.  Develop communication and presentation skills.

 

Requirements

Fully fledged Computer Lab with Internet connection as well as Microsoft Office installation which include Microsoft Office Project software.
