Appraisal of Fixed-Sum Contracts on the Time Preference of Tetfund Sponsored Building Projects in Public Universities in South East Nigeria
The construction industry faces significant delays, particularly in developing countries like Nigeria. Tertiary institutions, including universities and polytechnics, are often funded by various entities. A study evaluating the impact of fixed-sumbuilding contracts on the time performance of TETFund-sponsored projects in Enugu State found that none of thespecified project durations were completed within the stipulated time. This violation of TETFund guidelines allowed fornonchalance by all stakeholders involved in the projects. The study recommends that stakeholders in the building teamtake responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered within the specified duration, as previous intervention projectswere not completed
