Dendritic Cell Function in HIV-Infected Pediatric Populations

Pediatric HIV infection presents unique challenges due to the dynamic interplay between the virus and the developing immune system. Dendritic cells, key regulators of immune responses, play a crucial role in shaping the outcomes of HIV infection in children. This comprehensive review explores the multifaceted functions of dendritic cells in pediatric HIV, unraveling their contributions to immune modulation, antigen presentation, and adaptive immunity. The review delves into the complex interactions between dendritic cells and HIV, shedding light on the implications for viral pathogenesis in pediatric populations. Furthermore, it discusses the therapeutic implications, including innovative strategies and vaccine development, aiming to leverage dendritic cell function for improved clinical outcomes in children living with HIV.
