Yuma Erick is a dedicated computer scientist, educator, and researcher currently pursuing his PhD in computer science at kampala international university (KIU), where he also works as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science. with a strong academic background that includes both bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science, Erick has developed expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

As an academic, he has taught and mentored undergraduate and post-Graduate diploma students, creating engaging lectures and developing curricula to prepare students for successful careers or graduate studies. his teaching philosophy emphasizes practical applications of technology and innovative e-learning solutions.

Beyond the classroom, Erick works as a Data Steward officer at KIU's Directorate of Research, Innovation, Consultancy and Extensions, where he contributes to the university's research and grants initiatives. His professional experience includes significant work with the virus outbreak data network in africa and asia (vodan africa & asia), where he helped manage critical health data systems.

Erick has enhanced his technical credentials through certifications including CCNA (cisco networking), Fair Data Steward level 2, and specialized training in python programming and big data management from institutions like datacamp and the San Diego Supercomputer Center. His research focuses on applied computing solutions, with publications including work on Machine Learning models for agricultural yield prediction and data mining techniques for surveillance systems.
