Dr Derrick Ssekajugo

Principal, College of Economics and Management

Dr. Derrick Ssekajugo is the Principal of the College of Economics and Management at Kampala International University, where he provides strategic leadership in academic planning, curriculum development, research, quality assurance, and institutional growth. He is committed to promoting excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and industry engagement while preparing graduates to address contemporary economic and management challenges.

With nearly two decades of experience in higher education, Dr. Ssekajugo has served Kampala International University in several academic and administrative leadership roles, including Deputy Principal of the College of Economics and Management, College Administrator, Head of Department, and Programme Coordinator. He is also a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Policy Analysis with extensive experience in teaching, research supervision, and academic administration.

Dr. Ssekajugo holds a PhD from Kampala International University, a Master of Management Studies in Public Policy and Governance, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy and Governance from Uganda Management Institute, a Master of Arts in Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts with Education. His research interests include economics, public policy, governance, financial management, organisational productivity, infrastructure development, and socio-economic transformation.

An accomplished scholar, Dr. Ssekajugo has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals and has successfully supervised numerous postgraduate students at Master's and PhD levels. Through his leadership, scholarship, and commitment to academic excellence, he continues to strengthen the College's reputation as a centre for quality education, impactful research, and professional development.
