Dr. Kisubi Esther Christine is the Dean of the School of Law at Kampala International University, where she provides strategic leadership in legal education, curriculum development, research, academic quality assurance, and institutional partnerships. She is committed to advancing a student-centred learning environment while promoting innovation, legal scholarship, and community engagement.
With over 17 years of experience in legal education and academic leadership, Dr. Kisubi has held several senior positions across higher education, including Deputy Dean of the School of Law, Head of Department for Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) programmes, and Lecturer at multiple universities in Uganda. Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in curriculum review, postgraduate research supervision, academic administration, and the development of industry and professional partnerships.
Dr. Kisubi holds a PhD in Law, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) specialising in Public International Law, a Diploma in Legal Practice, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), and a Diploma in Secondary Education. Her research interests include environmental justice, natural resources and oil and gas law, human rights, international law, governance, gender equity, and sustainable development. She has published extensively on legal and policy issues affecting Uganda and the wider African region.
An accomplished scholar and mentor, Dr. Kisubi has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, contributed to curriculum innovation, and championed experiential legal education through moot courts, legal clinics, and community outreach. Through her leadership, scholarship, and commitment to justice, she continues to strengthen legal education, research excellence, and professional development at Kampala International University.
