Associate Professor Tukur Muhammad is the Dean of the Faculty of Education at Kampala International University, where he provides strategic leadership in teacher education, curriculum development, research, quality assurance, and academic innovation. He is dedicated to advancing excellence in education by promoting high-quality teaching, research, and professional development for future educators.
With over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, Associate Professor Muhammad has held several leadership positions in higher education, including Head of the Department of Biology and Principal Lecturer. Throughout his career, he has contributed significantly to curriculum development, research supervision, examination coordination, and institutional governance across secondary, teacher training, and university education.
He holds a PhD in Science Education from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, a Master of Education in Science Education, and a Bachelor of Science Education in Biology. His research interests include science education, biology education, curriculum innovation, pedagogy, gender equity in STEM, and learner-centred instructional approaches. He has published extensively in internationally indexed journals and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for several scholarly publications.
An accomplished researcher and mentor, Associate Professor Muhammad has successfully supervised postgraduate research, secured competitive research grants, and contributed to projects promoting educational innovation and inclusive learning. Through his leadership and scholarship, he continues to strengthen teacher education, research excellence, and academic quality, contributing to the preparation of competent educators and educational leaders for Africa and beyond.
