Associate Professor Bashir Olaniyi Sadiq is the Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Kampala International University, Western Campus, where he provides strategic leadership in the planning, implementation, and management of the University's ICT infrastructure, digital transformation initiatives, cybersecurity, and technology-enabled teaching, learning, and research. He is committed to leveraging emerging technologies to enhance institutional efficiency, innovation, and academic excellence.
With over a decade of experience in computer engineering, research, and ICT leadership, Associate Professor Sadiq has built a distinguished career spanning academia and industry. Before joining Kampala International University, he rose through the academic ranks at Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, from Assistant Lecturer to Reader in Computer Engineering. His professional experience also includes serving as a Network Engineer, providing him with a strong blend of technical expertise and strategic ICT management.
Associate Professor Sadiq holds a PhD and Master of Science in Computer Engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering. His research interests include computer communications and networks, artificial intelligence, image processing, the Internet of Things (IoT), data analytics, smart agriculture, and cybersecurity. He has authored numerous publications in leading international journals, secured competitive research funding, supervised postgraduate research, and contributed to curriculum development in computer engineering and ICT.
A registered engineer and recipient of the Huawei ICT Academy Excellent Instructor Award, Associate Professor Sadiq holds several international professional certifications, including Huawei Certified Information Professional (HCIP), Huawei Certified Academy Instructor, and Cisco Certified Networking Instructor. Through his leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to innovation, he continues to drive digital transformation and strengthen ICT services, research, and technological innovation at Kampala International University.
