Directors

Dr. Andrew Onchonga Nyakundi is the Director of Quality Assurance, Western Campus, Kampala International University, and a Senior Lecturer in Business Administration. He provides strategic leadership in academic quality, curriculum development, programme monitoring, institutional compliance, and the continuous improvement of teaching, research, and student support systems.

With over three decades of experience in higher education, administration, entrepreneurship, agribusiness, and organisational management, Dr. Nyakundi has held several senior academic leadership positions, including Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research. He has also taught at universities in Uganda, Kenya, and Burundi and previously served in senior technical and management roles at Mumias Sugar Company Ltd.

Dr. Nyakundi holds a PhD in Business Administration specialising in Entrepreneurship, an MBA in Entrepreneurship, a Bachelor of Agriculture, and a Diploma in Agriculture. He has authored and co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications covering entrepreneurship, financial management, cooperative development, organisational performance, and sustainable agribusiness.

An experienced postgraduate supervisor and academic mentor, he has guided numerous MBA and PhD students and contributed to curriculum development, thesis examination, and institutional quality enhancement. Through his leadership and scholarship, Dr. Nyakundi continues to strengthen academic standards, accountability, and excellence at Kampala International University.
