Ms. Shakiro Joyce Iluku
Dean of Students
Ms. Shakiro Joyce Iluku is the Dean of Students at Kampala International University, where she provides strategic leadership in student affairs, welfare, guidance and counselling, student engagement, and co-curricular development. She is responsible for promoting a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive campus environment that enhances student well-being, leadership development, and holistic learning.
With over 15 years of experience in higher education, teaching, educational leadership, and student development, Ms. Shakiro has served Kampala International University in several academic and administrative leadership roles. Prior to her appointment as Dean of Students, she served as Head of Department for Foundations, Research and School Practice, Head of the Humanities and Languages Department, and Assistant Lecturer across the University's campuses in Uganda and Tanzania.
Ms. Shakiro holds a Master of Arts in Educational Management and Administration from Kampala International University and a Bachelor of Arts with Education from Kyambogo University. She has supervised postgraduate research, taught courses in educational management, professional ethics, curriculum studies, and Kiswahili, and contributed significantly to academic quality, research supervision, and institutional development.
Passionate about student mentorship and youth empowerment, Ms. Shakiro has championed initiatives in student leadership, guidance and counselling, health awareness, and community engagement. Through her dedication to student success and personal development, she continues to foster a positive campus experience that empowers students to excel academically, socially, and professionally.
