University Executives

Dr. Asiati Mbabazi is the University Secretary at Kampala International University (KIU), Uganda, where she provides strategic administrative leadership and oversight of university governance and institutional operations. In this role, she supports senior management and statutory bodies, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and effective coordination across academic, administrative, and support units. She also serves as Chairperson of the University Leave Committee, a position she has held since January 2025, further strengthening policy implementation and staff welfare management.

She brings extensive leadership experience drawn from several senior appointments within KIU. Prior to her current role, Ms. Mbabazi served as Campus Administrator at KIU Western Campus, where she oversaw day-to-day campus operations and institutional planning. She is also the Hospital Administrator of KIU Teaching Hospital and has chaired key committees, including the Payroll Committee and Housing Committee at KIU Western Campus. Additionally, she serves on Special Purpose Management Committees responsible for Human Resource, Finance and ICT, Academic Affairs, and Research, Innovations and Grants.

Ms. Mbabazi is an accomplished academic administrator with a strong educational background. She is currently pursuing a PhD at Kampala International University. She holds a Master of Education in Management and Administration from KIU, a Bachelor of Education (Honours) from Makerere University, and a Diploma in Secondary Education from the National Teachers College, Kakoba. Her academic training underpins her effectiveness in institutional leadership, policy development, and human resource management.

Her research interests focus on educational management and administration, teacher performance and motivation, appraisal systems, gender and education, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes. Ms. Mbabazi has published several peer-reviewed research articles in international journals, contributing to scholarship on teacher motivation and performance management. She is widely regarded for her strong communication skills, administrative competence, and commitment to quality education and institutional excellence.
