Prof. Regina Ejemot Nwadiaro

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation, Consultancy, and Extension (RICE)

Professor Regina Idu Ejemot-Nwadiaro is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation, Consultancy, and Extension (RICE) at Kampala International University, where she provides executive leadership for the University's research, innovation, consultancy, and community engagement agenda. She drives institutional research strategy, international partnerships, grant development, innovation, and knowledge translation, positioning the University as a centre of excellence for impactful research and societal transformation.

An internationally renowned Professor of Public Health Nutrition, Professor Ejemot-Nwadiaro brings over 25 years of distinguished experience in academic leadership, global health research, and university governance. She has held several senior leadership positions, including Director of Research, Innovation, Consultancy and Extension (RICE), Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Public Health, and Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Health, NGOs and Special Projects. Her career has been defined by transformational leadership, interdisciplinary research, and the successful mobilisation of international research funding and strategic partnerships.

Professor Ejemot-Nwadiaro holds a PhD in Nutrition and Food Science (Public Health Nutrition), a Master of Science in Human Nutrition, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Human Nutrition. Her research focuses on public health nutrition, global health, maternal and child health, infectious diseases, health systems strengthening, evidence-based policy, and implementation research. She has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, including a landmark Cochrane systematic review that has significantly influenced global public health policy.

A highly respected researcher, mentor, and international collaborator, Professor Ejemot-Nwadiaro has supervised numerous postgraduate students, secured competitive international research grants, and built strategic partnerships with leading universities, governments, and global development agencies. Through her visionary leadership and commitment to research excellence, she continues to strengthen Kampala International University's global research profile while advancing innovation, community impact, and sustainable development.
