Another SOMAC PhD Candidate to Stage Virtual Public Defence of PhD

KIU, Western Campus – Another KIU School of Mathematics and Computing (SOMAC) student, James Ssegawa Kiggundu, will stage a virtual public defence of his PhD on Tuesday, September 15 at 10:00 AM, the Directorate of Higher Degrees and Research has announced.

“The Directorate of Higher Degrees and Research invites the KIU community and the general public to the Viva-Voce presentation of a student from the School of Mathematics and Computing,” reads the announcement.

Ssegawa’s thesis is on “A model of Integration of ICT in Tracking Administration of Malaria Drugs in Health Units in Uganda”

According to the abstract for the presentation, “the main objective of the study was to develop a model for integration of ICT in tracking administration of malaria drugs in health units in Uganda, with a view of establishing the malaria drugs administration roles of both health workers and health units, specifically to investigate issues affecting administration of malaria drugs in health units in Uganda; To develop a model for integration of ICT in the administration of malaria drugs in health units in Uganda and to validate a model for integration of ICT in the administration of malaria drugs in health units in Uganda.”
