KIU Rangers Clinch NBL Playoff Berth

KIU, Western Campus – The “Run for Respect” anti-GBV Run will take place tomorrow, starting at 9:00 AM at the KIU Western Campus Basketball Court.
This was confirmed in a press conference that took place yesterday at the administration block of the campus.
The run, which will happen under the theme, “Invest in Education to Prevent Violence Against Women and Girls” will have the acting DVC Western Campus Prof. Eric Mabonga as the chief runner.
The run is taking place as part of activities to mark the 16 days of activism against Gender based violence which started on November 25 and will end on December 10.
It is being organized by the O3 PLUS Club of KIU Western Campus and it is meant to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the country.
Prof. Mabonga thanked UNESCO for marking the 16 days of activism against Gender based violence and committed that management is ready to fund the project.
He reiterated the fact that KIU respects every individual be it staff, students and the entire community. Each runner will get a free running kit from the university.
“We handed over the kit to the chief runner and we are expecting around 300 runners, who will all be students. We have prepared well and many other activities like aerobics and entertainment led by students will take place,” Isima Bagaga,a Technical Working Group member of O3 PLUS, KIU Western Campus said.
The aim of the run is to create awareness on all forms of gender-based violence.
