KIU, Main Campus - On 14th March 2020, the Basoga Nseete emerged winners of the Cultural Gala after three years. The Nseete utilised stage and time management, authenticity, transitions, and variations to beat their arch rivals, the Baganda Nkobazambogo by a margin of one point.
With 177 points overall, the Nseete won their fifth cultural gala title in less than decade, making them the competitions all-time best winners despite the unprecedented delays off stage that would on another day have cost them.
The 2019 champions, the Bamasaba, and the 2019 second runners-up from Karamoja emerged second runners-up and 14th respectively this year. Last year's international champions from Nigeria were ridden off the throne by the charismatic Rwandans.
The 2020 Cultural Gala Festival featured 28 cultural associations, 25 of whom competed for the bull and trophy, excluding Congo and Tanzania who pulled out of the competition on the d-day.
