COVID-19 Updates: 5 New COVID-19 Deaths Registered as Cumulative Deaths Reach 69

KIU, Western Campus – The number of COVID-19 deaths in Uganda continues to rise after 5 new deaths were registered on September 22, according to the Ministry of Health daily COVID-19 update.

The deaths are 2 people who succumbed to the virus in Kapchorwa whereas there were 3 fatalities – one each - from Kampala, Gulu and Mbale districts.

Meanwhile, 167 new cases were also registered, including 155 contacts and alerts broken down as follows; 62 from Kampala, 40 Kiryandongo, 7 from Soroti, 6 from Mbale, 5 from Agago, 5 from Kiryandongo, 4 from Gulu, 4 from Kole, 4 from Lamwo, 3 from Isingiro, 2 each from Jinja, Masindi and Mukono plus one case each from Buikwe, Kaberamaido, Koboko, Luweero, Nwoya, Wakiso and Terego districts.

The other 12 cases are 11 returnees from India and one case from South Sudan.
