COVID-19 Updates: 75 New Cases Bring Uganda’s COVID-19 Total to 3,112

KIU, Western Campus – The total number of cumulative COVID-19 cases in Uganda has reached 3,112 after 75 new positive cases were discovered from the 4,133 samples tested on September 1.

In its daily COVID-19 update, the Ministry of Health said ontacts and alerts contributed 65 to this figure, which is more than 86% of the total cases, signaling an increasing rate of community transmissions. The other 10 cases are of Health workers from Kampala.

30 contacts and alerts are from Kampala, 23 from Buikwe, 6 from kikuube, 3 from Buvuma Islans and one each from Jinja, Mukono and Wakiso. 

This means that of the total cases 40 are from Kampala – just over 53%.

10 foreign truck drivers who tested positive were not allowed to enter the country.

Uganda has now registered 1,528 recoveries so far and tested 385,822 samples so far, with 32 confirmed COVID-19 deaths.
