COVID-19 Updates: Uganda Registers 2 More Deaths, 14 new COVID-19 Cases

Uganda has registered an additional 2 deaths and 14 new COVID-19 cases from tests done on 2,435 samples on August 9, the Ministry of Health has announced.

This means that Uganda’s COVID-19 deaths have now become 9. A 27-year old male from Kyangwali Refugee Settlement died at Hoima regional referral hospital and a 46-year old male resident of Kampala died at Nsambya Hospital.

Additionally, 14 new people tested positive for Coronavirus, including 9 contacts from Kampala, 3 alerts and 2 truck drivers. The alerts are from Kampala, Ntungamo and Hoima districts.

This means that Uganda has registered a total of 1,297 COVID-19 positive cases to-date as well as 1,137 recoveries.
