COVID-19 Updates: Uganda Registers 3 New COVID-19 Deaths to Push Toll to 25

Uganda has registered 3 more deaths from COVID-19, pushing the death toll to 25, the Ministry of Health has announced in its COVID-19 daily update.

The deceased are a 65-year old man and two women aged 70 and 65, with all the three fatalities being from Kampala.

Meanwhile, 64 new COVID-19 cases were registered in the country from the 3,212 samples tested on August 24, bringing the total number of cases in Uganda so far to 2,426. These include 60 contacts and alerts, with 27 coming from Kampala, 11 from Arua, 7 from Gulu, 3 from Wakiso, 2 from Manafwa, 2 from Adjumani, 2 from Zombo while Amuru, Buikwe, Hoima, Lamwo, Lira and Tororo districts registered one case each.

The remaining 4 cases are 2 health workers, a truck driver and a returnee from Saudi Arabia.

355,057 samples have been tested since the disease broke out in the country on March 23.
