KIU, Main Campus - The current Emorimor (King) of the Teso Students Association at KIU, Emmanuel Okubu, is aspiring to be the next president of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chapter KIU.

The intelligent, soft-spoken Emmanuel has served in different capacities like; advocate of Kayehamba law firm, member of Rule of Law KIU Chapter, students representative KIU Law Society, and currently willing to step down from the Emorimor position for the president post.

With zeal, he says, "Basing on the ideology of promoting the culture and reviving the glory of cultures, it's evident that it's this chapter that we have seen, and grown seeing, After rough research done on my  elders I feel it's the right position to serve and instil new ideas and make the ideology popular and adopted by all students."

Okubu encourages students to embrace culture because KIU is vast with open measures to allow cultural values, being exercised and practised and academically accredited, friendly lecturers with no cases of sexual harassment.

"I do strongly advocate for new students to take up an opportunity to study at KIU because it has all factors necessary for a conducive learning environment like the fully equipped library among others and should focus on academics," he says.
