KIU, Main Campus – During his address to the nation on the state of COVID-19 in Uganda on Sunday 19th April 2020, President Museveni urged people not to congregate with one another, but rather to disperse so as to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

Once again, Museveni explained the deadly effects of the virus, and the manner in which it can easily be transmitted from one person to another.

“That communal thing is where the danger is,” said the President, “because there, you can actually be infected even if you don’t touch yourself. You can now be infected through breathing because you are together, you are many, and you are close.”

He explained that drastic steps, such as the lockdown and curfew, were taken to forbid congregations and gatherings, and to maintain the dispersion of publics for the safety of their health in regards to the spread of COVID-19.
