KIU, Main Campus – The Chairman Board of Trustees (CBOT), Kampala International University, Al-Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Administration and Leadership from the Swiss School of Business Management (SSBM) in Geneva, Switzerland.

The award, which was conferred on him on Saturday, April 10, was received by Mariam Basajja (in orange suit), the VODAN Africa (a key technology partner of KIU) Technical Coordinator at the Nigerian National Merit Award (NNMA) House in Abuja, Nigeria.

This award is in recognition of Al-Hajj Basajjabalaba’s commitment to educational development in East Africa. He is one of the leading voices and actors that are championing the education revolution in Africa.

Under his stewardship, KIU has remained the leading private university and one of the best overall in Uganda and East Africa.

The university was in 2020 recognized by the Uganda Exports Promotion Board (UEPB) as the number one destination for international students in Uganda.
