KIU, Main Campus - Inspired to do music and dance years ago after frequently visiting the Ndere Cultural Centre to watch the dance festivals, the Afrobeats singer Priscilla Zawedde aka Azawi, has this year taken home several awards, including five accolades from the 2021 Buzz Teenz Awards (BTA) and three accolades from the inaugural Janzi Awards.

On Sunday, December 19, 2021, Azawi dominated the 2021 BTA, walking away with; Artist of the year, Teenz Female Artist, Teenz Flyest Video Slow Dancing, Teenz Hottest Song Writer, and Teenz Hottest Song of the year awards. This comes after the singer was named Uganda’s best female artist of 2021, Best Album, and best Afrobeat song at the Janzi Awards.

In a tweet dated December 21, the ‘Slow dancing’ singer applauded her fans for the ceaseless support.

"2021 just got more sweet and spicy. Album of the year, artist of the year, song of the year. Everything of the year. So thankful to my fans. 2022 another Our Year," Azawi wrote on Twitter.

Following her numerous achievements this year, the songster will be performing live at the New Year’s Eve party at Mestil Hotel, Kampala on December 30, as party poppers dance the night away and usher in the new year with a spectacular dinner and live performance.
