KIU, Western Campus – It is common knowledge that most pupils and students coast through school without exactly knowing what they will become in future – which is the reason why many schools organize career guidance seminars for their students.
But it is a different case for Emmanuel Mukiibi, because he wanted to be a pharmacist since he joined secondary school.
“I always dreamed to be a pharmacist since I joined High school because I admired the way and the role that pharmacists play in ridding people of diseases,” says the second-year Pharmacy student.
“Pharmacists play a very big role in medicine because it is they who dispense the drugs that help patients recover from their ailments,” he adds.
And now Mukiibi is just three years away from achieving his dream, albeit in one of the best Pharmacy schools in the country.
He reveals that when he completed secondary school, he instantly made the decision to join KIU’s School of Pharmacy.
“KIU has the best Pharmacy School in the country and I decided to come here because I was inspired by the practicing pharmacists who studied from KIU,” Mukiibi notes.
He advises other pharmacy students to take their studies seriously because once they leave KIU, they will sell like hot cake because of the university’s reputation as the best private university in Uganda.
