KIU International Desk: Zimbabwe's President Hands Over Power as he Goes on Annual Leave

KIU, Main Campus – Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa has handed power to the vice-president for three weeks as he begins his annual leave on Friday. 

According to a press release from the Office of the President and Cabinet signed by G. Charamba, the Deputy Chief Secretary for Presidental Communications, Mnangagwa will be out of the office commencing January 13th to 5th February 2022. 

The same press release indicates that the president will be spending his annual leave in the country. 

During this period, Vice President, General (Rtd) Dr. C.G.D.N Chiwenga will be Acting President.
