KIU, Main Campus – Raymond Aliga, the president of KIU Law Society has called upon students to use the 42-day lockdown to boost their skills cache through learning new skills and improving on those they already possess. 

Aliga, who talked to this website in a phone interview, believes the lockdown is important for opportunists to better their crafts.  He said students can use the lockdown to read books, learn new skills like graphic designing, writing for pleasure and physical fitness.

"Yes, it is vivid lockdown is not good generally but it provides us with a chance to look at other skills for survival. Some of you with time can try out some graphics, engage in physical fitness and many other activities that can take up your time positively," Aliga said.

He added that the COVID-19 pandemic will be defeated if all the people observe the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) put in place by the government.

 He also urged students to turn to God for comfort and remain positive that the virus will be defeated.

"Let's pray about everything and have hope that nothing lasts forever. Let's believe in ourselves that the COVID-19 pandemic will end once we observe the SOP's," he added.
