KIU, Main Campus- Tite Nkenkam Momekam has urged fellow students to get vaccinated as time for the official reopening of Universities nears. The bachelor of mass communication finalist believes total vaccination can bring University life back to normal.

The President of Uganda assured the nation in his last national address that all Universities and tertiary institutions would open in November but urged students as well as all Ugandans in the priority group of people between 18 and above, teachers and school staff to get vaccinated if life was to become as normal as before the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

It is upon this that the president of the KIU Mass communication students’ association has come out to add a voice, urging students to respond to President Museveni's call. Momekam hopes University life will return to normal only when as many students get vaccinated.

"I believe that the students must get vaccinated for their health benefit. This is also the only way we can get to enjoy life at University like the good days, "Momekam observed in a virtual interview with this website.

"I, therefore, encourage all students to vaccinate before the Universities are physically reopened so that we can get back to normal business," He added.

President Momekam has himself attained full vaccination and hopes life especially at university can easily return to normal if all students embrace vaccination against COVID-19.
"I hope University life can easily be restored once all of us get vaccinated. It is the only way we can get to mix and mingle once more," He noted.

Data released by the Uganda National Ministry of Health on Monday 11th, October 2021 indicates 123,445 COVID-19 reported cases,3,152 deaths and 96,083 recoveries out of 1,680,863 samples tested.
