KIU, Main Campus-Jeffry Akabwai has called all students who have been part of the Univesity team as well as those who would wish to join to turn for serious training with immediate effect ahead of the East Africa Univesity games in December this year.

In a notice issued on his Social Media on Monday, Akabwai called upon the footballers and those willing to be recruited to the University team to report for training starting this Thursday at 3:30 pm.

"Dear old players, you are hereby informed to turn up for the resumption of the University football training sessions starting this Thursday 22/09/2022 at KIU Main campus Grounds starting at 3:30 PM," the notice reads.

"New students are also encouraged to come and join the University Team," it adds.

Apart from the national beach soccer league, KIU is yet to participate in any soccer tournament this year and there hasn't been any serious business at the football pitch ever since the team learned they were not participating in the Pepsi University league earlier in the year.
