KIU Western Campus Loses Third Student in a Week

KIU, Western Campus – The KIU Western Campus community is engulfed in a dark cloud of grief after Samuel Mwesigwa Bitaine, a pre-internship Bachelor of Pharmacy student became the third student from the campus to die in less than a week.

This follows the deaths of Dumbar Anwar, a second-year medical student who died on Friday last week and William Kalubya, a fourth-year medical student.

Many students took to social media to eulogize their colleagues, with many offering words of condolence for the fallen students and others posting them on their WhatsApp statuses.

Daniel Michael Funda, the former president of the KIU Pharmacy Students Association (KIUPSA) posted thus on his status, “Rest in Eternal Peace fallen comrade.”

Peter Namutoolo, a fourth-year Bachelor of Clinical Medicine student posted old pictures of Bitaine with the caption, “RIP Samuel Mwesigwa Bitaine.”

We send our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased.
