The presentation that is slated to take place in next week on Tuesday 13th April 2021 at the main campus Senate Boardroom at 10AM.

Owade's presentation is a result of a study she carried out seeking to examine the role of Media in Conflict Management in 2007 and 2017 Kenya's Presidential Elections. She widely analyses and evaluates the impact and the role of government in contributing to management on the subject.

Interestly in study findings she showed Kenya's media houses gradually changed their coverage from war to peace approach. Further findings revealed that media has played a role in escalation of violence by promoting use of avoidance approach.

Owade recommends that media should adhere to sensitive journalism during their electoral reportage and also conduct public dabates and talk shows to promote the environment of political compromise in elections.

She called upon the government to organize trainings and workshops to polish professionalism in journalism, and the government to strengthen policies on electoral processes especially to sensitize masses.
