KIU, Western Campus – KIU Medical student Michael Jemba Senkolle, on November 18, graduated as a Millenium Fellow in the Millenium Fellowship Class of 2022 of the Millenium Campus Network (MCN).

The Millennium Fellowship is a semester-long leadership development program created by the United Nations for undergraduate students to improve partnership building and community impact skills.

It is a movement of social impact student leaders committed to making the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and principles reality by 2030 and takes place on select University campuses in various parts of the world.

According to Jemba, the graduation happened after 8 weeks of training of social impact-oriented student leaders all over the globe.

“We had speeches from Paul Polman, the co-author of Financial Times Business Book of The Year titled “Net Positive”, Rev. Prof. Stephen Ngari from the Catholic University EA and Naseir Yasin from Nas Daily among others,” Jemba told this website.

Jemba says the training was physical and student-led by the Campus Directors to the other Fellows but they also had some virtual sessions.

“We also had opportunities to moderate webinars which were in line with networking and creating social impact and in-depth understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals,” he revealed.

Well done Jemba!
