Scholarship Announcement: Mechatronics and Automation (Intelligent Systems) Study Program Under ALL4WASH Project

Kampala International University under the ALL4WASH project is pleased to announce the MSc. Scholarship undertaken at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Norway. These Masters scholarships will be offered in the mechatronics and Automation (Intelligent Systems) study program, and students can follow specific water-related courses, and work on a final-year project on smart/intelligent water systems.

Project Description

All4WASH is a project funded by the Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Cooperation (NORPART) with a consortium of partner Universities from Norway (University of Science and Technology), Ghana (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology), South Africa (University of Venda), Tanzania (The Nelson Mandela African Institute of Technology), Ethiopia (Addis Ababa University), Mali (National School of Engineers Bamako) and Uganda (Kampala International University).

The overall aim of the project is to strengthen inclusive education and research in sustainable water supply and sanitation. The project also aims to increase the quality of research and advance knowledge in the areas of circular economy, digitalization, governance, equity & inclusion, resource recovery, health, and climate change.

Selection Procedure

For the scholarship, partner Universities will offer two candidates each to apply for the scholarship. Afterwards, only two best candidates (from pre-selected) will be chosen by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

In this regard, ALL4WASH-KIU is pre-selecting two candidates to represent KIU.

 Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a KIU graduate (Bachelor’s) in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering with a first class.
  • Must be committed to conducting MSc. research work in the specified program.
  • Female candidates and candidates from marginalized (vulnerable groups [1] ) are encouraged to apply.

 The scholarship will cover

  • Full Tuition Fees
  • Round-trip air tickets
  • Living allowance
  • Research allowance
