Uganda’s COVID-19 Cases Toll to 44,074 as 155 New Cases Reported

KIU, Main Campus - Uganda has registered 155 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections to 44,074.

According the statement by Emmanuel Ainebyona, the Spokesperson Ministry of Health, out of the 2,428 samples tested on Sunday, 155 contacts and alert cases, 119 of them in Kampala turned positive for the novel Coronavirus.

Ainebyona added that a total of 43,401 recoveries and 358 deaths have been registered since the outbreak was declared in the country in March last year.

A total of 527,917 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19, with 2,736 of them receiving their second jab of the AstraZeneca vaccines.
