Programme Overview
The Bachelors degree in chemistry major has been conceived in the light of the above. It is designed in response to the current demands for strong first degrees in terms of academic and professional content so as to enable the graduates to compete competently in the ever-thinning world market. The programme ensures that students acquire a systematic and broad understanding of key chemical concepts, develop an in-depth knowledge and critical awareness of a substantial area of chemistry, and be suitably prepared for contemporary professional practice in the chemical sciences or for studying further at master and doctoral level.

In addition to other University admission requirements, a candidate should have:-
- Studied chemistry at A' level
- Obtained at least two principal passes in science at A' level at the same sitting
- A Diploma in Education (secondary) or its equivalent with Chemistry as one of the subjects studiedĀ
The candidate should have the Uganda Advanced Certificate of education with two advanced level passes obtained at the same sitting in Chemistry and another science subject, either Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Agriculture, or Computer Science.
